Waltonwood’s Commitment to Senior Pets
We reflect on the incredible efforts of our Waltonwood Senior Living communities to make a difference in the lives of senior pets. Over the past few weeks, our residents have gone above and beyond, participating in senior pet adoption events across multiple Waltonwood communities in Michigan and North Carolina. From creating thousands of toys to baking fresh dog treats, our communities have shown a deep commitment to supporting the national “Clear the Shelters” campaign.
Through our “Seniors Helping Seniors” initiative, Waltonwood residents have showcased their love for animals by donating over 2,000 toys and supplies, baking more than 1,000 homemade dog treats, and handcrafting over 200 blankets.
Our dedication didn’t stop there—we also helped pay for the adoption of seven senior dogs, with three more adoptions pending. These initiatives were made possible through our partnerships with local shelters, including the Michigan Animal Rescue League, Bottle Babies Rescue, Wake County Animal Shelter and more. Together, we are breaking down financial barriers to ensure these wonderful senior pets find their forever homes.

A Continuing Commitment
Our residents’ generosity and dedication have made a lasting impact, but our work is far from over. We remain committed to supporting our local animal rescues and shelters and will continue to champion the cause of senior pet adoption for years to come. Together with our incredible residents and staff, we will keep making a difference, one paw at a time.
