New community brings hospitality-style design and more personalized care choices as North Carolina’s 65-plus population grows
RALEIGH, N.C., [Feb. 4, 2026] – Waltonwood Senior Living, a division of Singh Development, is now welcoming residents to Waltonwood Lead Mine, a new assisted living and memory care community in North Raleigh. The opening adds 95 senior apartments to the area at a time when demand for housing for older adults is rising. Assisted living apartments feature kitchenettes with full-size refrigerators, accessible baths with shower benches and handrails, high ceilings, enhanced LED lighting, individual climate controls and generous storage. The memory care neighborhood serves residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Studio and one-bedroom apartments sit within a secure setting where each resident has a person-centered service plan developed with families, physicians and other health care providers. An on-site resident care manager oversees service plans and coordinates care as needs change, and associates complete specialized dementia training. Community spaces are designed to feel like a boutique hotel, with a vaulted wood-plank lobby ceiling, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and layered seating around a coffee nook. A dedicated theater with cinema-style seating and popcorn bar, restaurant-style dining room with exposed beams and herringbone fireplace and a bistro with cane-back chairs and pendant lighting give residents multiple places to gather throughout the day.
